Summer Social Series FAQs for Guests

  • Our Summer Series is a collection of community-based events designed for AAC users and their families to connect, explore local spaces, and build meaningful relationships. Each event offers a supportive, inclusive environment where communication and participation are prioritized.

  • Each event may have a different registration process depending on the location or community partner. Some events may require registration through the venue, while others will be managed by our team. Be sure to check the details listed for each specific event.

  • Yes. Because each event is unique and may have different capacity limits or partners, registration is handled individually for each one.

  • Yes. These events are designed for families to attend together. A parent or caregiver must remain on-site and is responsible for supervision and participation throughout the event.

  • No—this is not a drop-off program or respite care. Our Summer Series is a shared experience for families. Staying together helps foster connection, comfort, and communication support for AAC users.

  • Absolutely! While you’re welcome to join us for any single event, we encourage families to attend multiple throughout the summer. Seeing familiar faces over time helps build stronger connections and a true sense of community.

  • These events are designed for AAC users and their families. Siblings are welcome! We aim to create an inclusive, supportive environment for a wide range of communication needs.

  • In most cases, yes—families are responsible for covering any admission or participation costs associated with each event. Because our Summer Series takes place in community spaces, pricing is often set by the host location.

That said, we are committed to making these experiences as accessible as possible. We are able to offer discounted tickets through Find Your Voice AAC depending on the location. View each event page for more details!

Families may also be able to use Indiana’s Access Pass program for discounted admission at participating venues. We encourage you to review each event’s details ahead of time to understand available options.

Summer Social Series FAQs for Volunteers

  • Our volunteers play an important role in helping create a supportive, communication-rich environment. They may:

    • Model AAC use and communication strategies in natural, everyday interactions

    • Support social connection and engagement between participants and families

    • Help facilitate inclusive play and exploration at the event location

    • Offer encouragement and help families feel comfortable using AAC in the moment

Volunteers are there to support—not replace—caregivers. Families remain responsible for supervision and care at all times.

  • All volunteers must register ahead of time and complete a background check before participating in events. This helps us ensure a safe and supportive experience for everyone involved.

  • At this time, both volunteers and participants are responsible for covering any admission costs associated with the event. However, some locations may offer reduced admission depending on the event if you sign up with Find Your Voice AAC!

Families and volunteers may also be able to use Indiana’s Access Pass program for discounted admission at participating locations. Be sure to check the details for each specific event to learn more.
